Mortgage options with an ITIN
An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is issued by the IRS to people who need a U.S. taxpayer ID but are not eligible for a Social Security number. Some wholesale lenders offer ITIN mortgage programs for qualified borrowers purchasing or refinancing a home.
Non-QM note: Non-QM loans are not eligible for purchase by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac and may have higher rates, fees, or costs than agency loans. Terms vary by lender.
- Valid ITIN and identification
- Credit history (traditional or alternative, depending on the program)
- Income and employment or self-employment documentation
- Down payment and reserves from acceptable sources
